Training on the Incident Response System (IRS):

It is intended that the IRS be the preferred Disaster Response mechanism I India and the NDMA pro-actively assists the States and Union Territories (UTs) in participating and honing the IRS through following steps:

•Step-I : IRS Training at the State/UT level

•Step-II : Coordination and Orientation Conference

•Step –III : Conduct a Table Top Exercise

•Step –IV : Conduct of a Mock Exercise

•Step-V: Submission of Final Report


IRS Training in the States and UTs:

•The NDMA commences preparation of the IRS Trainign Calnedar around December for the forthcoming Financial Year

•In FY 2017-18, IRS training has been conducted in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura. Similar trainingis planned in a number of other States and UTs.


States/UTs which have notified the IRS:

Seven States (Andhra Pradesh; Arunachal Pradesh; Assam; Manipur; Mizoram; Nagaland; Tripura), and one Union Territory (Andaman & Nicobar Islands) have already notified the IRS, and taken steps to form Incident Response Teams (IRTs).
