Meeting regarding National Disaster Management System - 30th June 2022

NDMA held a meeting to discuss on the issues regarding the preparation of disaster data-base and feeding necessary data in the National Disaster Management Information System (NDMIS) platform. Discussions on the challenges, support requirements, meeting the orientation needs, etc were also taken up alongside.

CBRN Training with Indian Ports Association and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, Mumbai - 30th June 2022

NDMA in association with Indian Ports Association & Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority organized a three-day, “Basic Training on CBRN Emergency Management of Seaport Handlers” at JNPA APEC Training Center.

This basic-level CBRN (Chemicals, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) training course intends to enhance Emergency Handlers' ability to recognize, survive and respond to CBRN incidents.

It focuses on the needs of those, who will be the first to arrive on the scene or those who may otherwise be the first professional presented with the result of the CBRN incidents

Technical Seminar on Technology options being utilized for EWDS (Early Warning Dissemination System) - 24th June 2022

NDMA conducted a technical seminar-cum-interaction meet on the various technology options being utilized for the EWDS (Early Warning Dissemination System) project along with the discussion on CAP & ERSS projects with presentations from stakeholders and representatives from C-DOT, C-DAC, etc.

➡️ The purpose of the meeting is to examine the various functionalities being provided under these projects, especially with a view to cost management and maintainable features.

CBRN Training for at Lucknow airport - June 23rd (Posted) 15th- 17th June

National Disaster Management Authority organized the CBRN (Chemical, Biological, and Radiological & Nuclear) Emergency Management training programme at Lucknow airport.

➡️The training conducted to enhance the preparedness of airport emergency handlers to respond to CBRN emergencies, encompassing threats emanating from the use of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear materials at the airport.

➡️Apart from equipping the airport emergency handlers to handle CBRN emergencies, the training programme would also enable them to provide first-aid and initial psycho-social support

Meeting to review project proposals formulated towards Disaster Risk Management for Museums and Cultural Heritage Sites and Precincts - 20th June 2022

NDMA held a review meeting to discuss upon the project proposals formulated towards Disaster Risk Management for Museums and Cultural Heritage sites and precincts.

Meeting of IORA Working Group on Disaster Risk Management - 09th June 2022

NDMA hosted the First meeting of the (Indian Ocean Rim Association) IORA Working Group on Disaster Risk Management along with the stakeholders from India Meteorological Department Indian Coast Guard (ICG) , National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Ocean Information Service Provider (INCOIS- MoES), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

Representatives from the 11 Member States from Australia, Bangladesh, Mauritius, Tanzania, Madagascar, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Seychelles, South Africa, Iran, Malaysia participated in the meeting.

The purpose of the WGDRM (Working Group on Disaster Risk Management) is to promote regional cooperation within IORA on DRM and WGDRM would work to strengthen cooperation and information sharing on best practices in terms of DRR (Disaster Risk Reduction), Mitigation, and effective response systems.

Meeting regarding setting up of Integrated Control Room for Emergency Response (ICR-ER) in MHA - 08th June 2022

A meeting was chaired by Sh. Kamal Kishore, Member & Secretary (I/C) , NDMA for setting up an Integrated Control Room for the Emergency Response (ICR-ER) in the Ministry of Home Affairs with the concerned stakeholders and agencies.

Meeting to review the action taken by Ministry of Culture on decisions taken for disaster risk management in Museums, Cultural Heritage sites and Precincts - 03rd June 2022

Senior Officials of NDMA held a meeting with the officials of Ministry of Culture to review and discuss on the decisions taken for the disaster risk management in museums, cultural heritage sites and precincts.

Conduct of online IRS and Table Top Exercise on Floods Disaster in Madhya Pradesh- 2nd June 2022

To enhance the preparedness for floods, National Disaster Management Authority conducted an online Incident Response System (IRS) Training and Table Top Exercise for the State of Madhya Pradesh under the chairmanship of Sh. Rajendra Singh, Member, NDMA. NDMA regularly conducts training to prepare all stakeholders involved in Disaster Management.

Meeting to facilitate TTD in preparation of their Disaster Management Plan (DMP)

Senior officials of NDMA held a virtual meeting with the officials of Tirumala TirupatiDevasthanam (TTD), Andhra Pradesh and other stakeholders to discuss and facilitate them in preparation of their Disaster Management Plan.

Visit of Media Delegation from Maldives in NDMA - 26th May 2022

As a part of the familiarization program organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, National Disaster Management Authority hosted the visit of a 20-member media delegation from Maldives for interaction with Members and Senior Officials of NDMA.

The interaction was aimed at sharing the insights of disaster management in India and the role of all concerned authorities and entities associated at various levels.

Such interactions will further help with knowledge exchange, and better understanding and strengthen overall cordial relations between India and the Maldives.
