FINANCIAL RISK COVERAGE IN CONTEXT OF PM’S TEN POINT AGENDA 

NDMA team led by Shri Rajendra Singh, Member, NDMA along with the other officials' visited Kalpakkam DAE Centre at Madras Atomic Power Station, Kalpakkam, reviewed the Emergency Preparedness Programme at MAPS.

➡ They visited Integrated Radiation Monitoring Facility (IRMF), Control Room, Turbine Generating Facility, Hook-up points post-Fukushima and other off-site nuclear facilities at MAPS, as a part of the MHA requirement for compliance verification.

➡ The team expressed satisfaction with the robustness of the nuclear emergency preparedness at the facility after making the maiden visit to the Kalpakkam site and witnessing the excellent, commendable teamwork of the experts.

A meeting was held to review and consider the project's progress report 'Developing Framework for Heat Vulnerability Mapping and model Heat Action Plan for the Indian Cities by the NDMA Members and Senior Officials. The review was for the period of October 2021 to September 2022.

 

 

 

 

 

NDMA officials held a coordination conference in the run-up to the 'State-Level Mock Exercise on Floods Disaster' organised in Chhattisgarh from 2nd- 4th of November 2022 along with the Tabletop exercise.

 

 

 

NDMA conducted an online training on Sendai Framework Monitoring (SFM) and National Disaster Management Information System (NDMIS).

Discussions were carried out on the following aspects :

 

➡ SFDRRMTR and Role of Sendai Framework Monitor Targets and Indicators and sources of data

➡ About NDMIS and SFM Module (its linkage with Sitreps)

➡ State Specific Reporting Issues and All state's focal point existing systems for Disaster situation reporting and Damage loss databases with possible integration to NDMIS

➡ The year 2022 marks the midpoint in the implementation of a number of development frameworks as agreed upon in 2015, including the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Addis Ababa Action Agenda for Financing for Development, the Paris Climate Agreement, and the Sendai Framework. India is a signatory of SFDRR, committed towards the implementation of SFDRR.

 

 

 

 

 

An online meeting was chaired by the Secretary in charge, NDMA Sh. Kamal Kishore and other members to discuss and deliberate upon the draft Standard Operating Procedure(SOP) on channelizing  Domestic Aid/ Humanitarian Assistance on 19th of October 2022

 

 

 

 

 

Members and Senior Officials of NDMA  held an interaction meeting with the participants of the 48th Advanced Professional Programme in Public Administration (APPPA), IIPA at NDMA Bhawan.

The interaction was aimed at a better understanding of disaster management in India, with insights, into the role of concerned authorities and the entities associated to further enhance skills to coordinate with all stakeholders for better governance. 

 

 

NDMA organised the 2nd Regional Conclave of the SDMAs of the 13 Himalayan/North-Eastern states at Gangtok, Sikkim on 14th-15th October 2022.

The main objectives of the conclave were :

* Sharing the best practices of DRR between the states

* Better coordination between NDMA and states

* Way forward for institutional, Financial and Techno-legal strengthening.

 

 

Member, NDMA Sh. Rajendra Singh visited the Amroha District of Uttar Pradesh to review and discuss the preparations for the upcoming Tigdi Mela; interacted with the District Administration officials and emphasized adhering to NDMA's guidelines to address applicable hazards and suggested DDMA revise DDMP periodically. He further suggested Deptts focus on the other aspects of disaster management such as disaster prevention, mitigation and preparedness. Tigdi Mela happens in the 1st week of November and is said to be attended by approximately 20 to 30 lakh devotees every year.
